We can no longer ignore the preponderance of evidence it’s time to invoke Amendment 25

The constitutional crisis that people kept warning the world about is now front and center.

The wanna-be dictator shared an AI-generated photo of himself as the Pope days after the real Pontiff’s death. Further, trump claimed he was the number one choice for Pope Francis’ replacement. That was in poor taste like a lot of his other buffoonery. The serial liar and convicted felon has normalized his narcissistic and bizarre behavior. His unpresidential conduct is obscuring his dangerous impact on the country.

For the last 100 days, U.S. Constitutional scholars have hinted that this country is on the brink of a constitutional crisis. The courts were paralyzed as to what to do with a rogue president who defies court orders.

The trump administration has crossed the line. You’re probably thinking it crossed many lines weeks ago when trump and his chain-saw cabinet started dismantling the U.S. government. Most of those actions could be labeled as unethical and immoral – but not necessarily illegal or unconstitutional. A U.S. citizen was deported without due process. The highest court in the land has acknowledged such. We are in territory that is charted.

Kilmar Abrega Garcia, father of three and husband of an American citizen, is now a resident at the Terrorism Confinement Center aka CECOT. Garcia’s case has elevated the series of decisions by trump and point to a man who is incapable of making rational decisions. This isn’t a matter of liking trump or disagreeing with him. He is a national security risk.

Since the January inauguration, the administration has acted like sociopaths and lunatics. They have acted recklessly and lawlessly, destroying everything in their wake. It is time to invoke Amendment 25 because clearly the president is mentally incompetent for this position. He’s aiding and abetting a potential global economic meltdown. He’s stoking the domestic anger and worldwide fury that makes the U.S. a target of homegrown violence and international terrorism.

There is a mountain of evidence that points to trump’s impaired judgement. He is clearly unhinged, and each passing day brings more proof of his derangement. This dire situation cannot just live in the jokes of late-night hosts or social media memes.

The constitutional crisis that people kept warning the world about is now front and center. It’s time to take definitive, decisive action. It is time for Congress to stand up and protect democracy. That’s what we should start demanding. We must organize strategic pressure to remove trump from office. Now.

Primary was a dry run for the November election

The August primaries were revealing, bringing both disappointments and successes. Can we get past the slings and arrows that typically go airborne after tough races and contentious ballot initiatives? We must have a sober discussion about how to move forward if we want to save our struggling democracy and the rights and liberties that accompany it. We must protect our gains and expand our victories.

Behind the Rise of Citizen Murders in the U.S.

The execution of Corey Ruiz is symptomatic of rogue enforcement under the Trump regime. We can no longer use “law” and “enforcement” in the same breath with these people, and we should not. Doing so will help us to understand better that the MAGA monsters have a blatant disrespect for the law and therefore cannot be expected to uphold it. Emboldened by henchmen at the top, the minions on the street level are exerting their power.

Saving the tools of Democracy

Most voters take the valued tools of democracy for granted. We can access them readily without thinking about how society got them, or who’s responsible for protecting them. The foundational, electoral, and direct democracy tools are deeply integrated into the fabric of society. It has only been under the current regime that significant attention has been given to understanding what these tools are and the potential consequences of losing them.
