National Assata Shakur Liberation Day was started by the Jericho Movement in 2013 in response to the FBI’s designation of Assata as a terrorist, making her the first woman on their top ten most wanted list. Assata Shakur Liberation Day is reminder and call that winning the freedom of political prisoners is critical to the protection of our Human Right to self-determination, self-defense, and self-respect.
We will be joined by special guests, who will share reflections on the impact of Assata Shakur on our movements and recount the incredible organizing to keep her free.
