Tensions are rising. Civility is fading. Violence is spreading. This country has created a monster and now, rebellion is in the air. Millions hit the streets to remind trump that this is a democracy, not a monarchy.

The revenge of trump and his policies to make America white again has moved to another level. The hit list of sanctuary cities was released by the MAGA minions and included Madison and Milwaukee. Carrying out the immigration policies have already gone awry, and many cases are being contested in courts. If I were a betting woman, I’d bet that a showdown is looming, and one city will be made the humiliated example.

Most people forget that Missouri was a slave state. The state would like to forget that part of its history and pretend that because it’s in the middle of the country, that makes it Midwest. It’s ugly history which includes the infamous Dred Scott case in St. Louis, which makes the state more Southern than Midwestern. It was ripe for the MAGA virus to make St. Louis white again.

The constitutional crisis that people kept warning the world about is now front and center.

Former Missouri State Attorney General and now Senator Eric Schmitt was crystal clear in his analysis of the campaign to rid St. Louis of its Black female legislators. Sure, his post-election post was braggadocious in nature but do not get lost in the tone. Focus on the words which confirmed my declaration that there has been a campaign to rid St. Louis of any Black, forward-thinking elected officials, making St. Louis white again.

It was a methodical and calculated plan that began with character assassination, disinformation, amplification of their missteps and bad decisions, then engaging other opportunists and misguided Black folks to fan the flames.

Our united front must be broad and inclusive of those who understand the mission. There’s a quote that I’ve been thinking a lot about when I look at the U.S. Left’s response to the destruction by the trump-musk duo: “Don’t let perfect be the enemy of good”.

The convicted felon in the White House and his non-elected oligarch have opened wide the floodgates to influence elections by corporate sector dollars. We can see it happening at all levels of government. It is a neon warning sign that this country is treading dangerous waters on the way to Making America White Again. Tens of millions are flowing into the Wisconsin Supreme Court race.

Even before Mayor Tishaura Jones was sworn in as the first African American female mayor, the murmurs of the curse started to swirl. Would she break the curse or fall victim to it? We will find out soon enough.
